LUCANIA, Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. AR Nomos (20mm, 7.61 g, 11h). Theta Group. Head of Athena left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; Θ behind neck / Lion standing right; Θ below. Williams 258 (O150/R205); HN Italy 1305; SNG Lockett 548 (same dies). Old cabinet tone, some roughness and a few minor cleaning marks on obverse, area of weak strike on reverse. VF.
