HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarites. Kidara. Circa 425-457. AV Dinar (34mm, 7.56 g, 12h). In the name and types of Vahrām (Bahram) I Kushanshah. Boxlo (Balkh) mint. Vahram standing left on ground line, wearing lotus crown with ribbons and surmounted by pomegranate, flames at shoulders, sacrificing at altar and holding trident; to left, trident standard above altar, middle prong surmounted by crescent; to right, tamgha above triple pellets / Siva standing facing, holding diadem and trident; behind, the bull Nandi standing left. Cf. Cribb, Kidarites 5A (for type); cf. ANS Kushan 2424 (same); cf. MK 727 (same). Slight hairline flan crack. EF.
