UNCERTAIN EAST. Æ Dupondius (29.5mm, 15.64 g, 12h). Countermark applied early 1st century AD(?). Lituus left in incuse conforming to shape, on a bronze dupondius of Tiberius from the Commagene mint. CNG E-435, lot 242, otherwise apparently unpublished in the standard references (but cf. Howgego 401 for a similarly styled cornucopia countermark appearing on the same issue). Dark green to black patina with earthen highlights/deposits, some cleaning scratches. Host Near VF, c/m is VF.
