Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 15.22 g, 12 h), struck posthumously, Odessos, c. 120-90 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛΕΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, ΘE; below throne, monogram of ΟΔΗ. HGC 2, 1587. Price 1181. Callataÿ D16/R48. Nicely toned and with an obverse in high relief. Extremely fine.
