Sunrise 332 (this coin). A scarce issue from a rare mint. Bold and attractive. Some striking flatness on both sides, otherwise, extremely fine.
Ex Triton XXI, 9 January 2018, 559, from the Sunrise Collection, The New York Sale XXXVII, 5 January 2016, 100, and ex Peus 338, 27 April 1994, 137.One of the amusing things about Parthian coins is the way ever more recent research has a habit of changing their ruler attribution! One hopes that this coin type, one of the most impressive of all Parthian drachm types, remains as Phraates III.
