Faustina II, wife of Marcus Aurelius, Augusta, 147-175. Phrygia. Docimeium. Triassarion (Bronze, 28 mm, 11.06 g, 6 h), after 164/early 170s. ΦΑYCΤEΙΝΑ CEΒΑCΤΗ Draped bust of Faustina II to right, her hair rolled into a bun at the back. Rev. ΔΟΚΙΜEΩΝ ΜΑΚEΔΟ Apollo, nude, standing facing, head turned to right, wearing laurel wreath, holding a laurel branch with his right hand, his right elbow supported by the Delphic tripod to his left, and holding his bow with his left; in the field to right, crow alighting on Apollo's left arm. RPC online 1688. Very rare; only five recorded in RPC online, all in public collections. With a very good portrait of Faustina and a dark green-black patina. Obverse very slightly double-struck, otherwise, very fine.
