Velia. Circa 465-440 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 4.02 g, 12 h). Head of a nymph to right, her hair turned up and bound with a taenia. Rev. ΥΕΛΗ Owl standing right on olive twig. HN III 1265. SNG Ashmolean 1104 (= Williams 110c). Williams 110 (O.75/R.83). Beautifully toned and particularly attractive. Extremely fine.
