British East Africa, Edward VIII (1936), 10-Cents, 1936 KN, erroneously struck on a cupro-nickel flan intended for West African issues, Kings Norton Mint (KM 24a), the discovery coint that prompted the listing in Krause, good very fine and extremely rare.
Hybrid mules of East African obverse are known with reverses of British West African issue 10-Cent coins, as seen in the Arielle Collection (Baldwin 85, 26 September 2013, lot 3077). This would however appear to be the first public offering of a correctly paired East African 10-Cents, struck on an erroneous West African 10-Cents planchet
Estimate: £200 - £250
