ANCIENT COINS. GREEK. Sicily, Leontinoi (c.440-430 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm, 16.83g, 3h. Head of Apollo facing left, wearing a laurel-wreath, hair rolled, with curly locks before and behind his ear. Rev. LEON-TIN-O-N, head of roaring lion facing left, its jaws open and tongue protruding, four barley ears around (SNG ANS 234; Rizzo, pl. XXIII, 19). Broad flan, pleasing style, nearly extremely fine.
