ANCIENT COINS. JUDAEA. Kingdom of Egypt, Arsinoe II Philadelphos (died c.270 B.C.), Gold Oktodrachm (or Mnaïeion), 27.68g, 12h. Mint of Alexandria, struck under Ptolemy II, c.253/2-246 B.C. Head facign right, wearing a veil and a stephane, a lotus-tipped scepter in the background, Θ on left. Rev. APΣINOHΣ ΦIΛAΔEΛΦOY, double cornucopiae, bunches of grapes hanging at sides, bound with fillet (Svoronos 460; SNG Copenhagen 134). A few very light marks, residual lustre, extremely fine.
