ANCIENT COINS. JUDAEA. Kyrenaika, Kyrene (c.495-475 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm, 16.31g, 6h. Silphium plant, a lion's head facing left on right, a fruit below. Rev. Eagle's head facing right, with a serpent in its beak, all within a dotted square border within an incuse square (BMC 13, pl. III, 4 (this obverse die); cf Asyut 818). Some light porosity on reverse, toned, very fine. Very rare.
