ANCIENT COINS. ROMAN. Valentinian I (A.D. 364-375), Silver Miliarense, 4.43g, 6h. Mint of Constantinople, struck A.D. 367-75. D N VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust facing, head turned right. Rev. VICTORIA DN AVG, emperor standing left in military attire, holding a labarum with his left hand, and in his outstretched right Victory on a globe, holding a wreath, his left foot rests on a captive kneeling left, behind him a female captive seated right, head turned left, *CONS and wreath in exergue (RIC IX, 218, 32 (this coin mentioned and illustrated in pl. XII; Mazzini V, 225, prima 53 and pl. LX (this coin)). Toned, good very fine. Extremely rare, possibly unique.
