ANCIENT COINS. ROMAN. Valentinian II (A.D. 375-392), Silver Siliqua, 2.12g, 6h. Mint of Treveri, struck A.D. 388-92. D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust facing right. Rev. VIRTVS RO-MANORVM, Roma, wearing long drapery and a helmet, seated left on a cuirass, holding a spear with her left hand, and in her outstretched right Victory on a globe, holding a wreath, TRPS in exergue (RIC IX, 31, 94a; C 61). Broad flan, attractively toned, extremely fine.
