Constantine VII with Romanus II (A.D. 945-959), Gold Solidus, 4.40g, 6h. +IhS XΓS REX REGNANTIUM, bust of Christ Pantocrator facing, with nimbus containing three pellets in each arm, hand raised in benediction and holding book of Gospels. Rev. COnSTAnT CE ROMANI AUGGbR, facing busts of emperors, both crowned, holding between them a long patriarchal cross, Constantine wears loros, his son a chlamys (DOC 15; S 1751). Good extremely fine, superb.
