Charioteer, wearing a long chiton and holding the reins, driving a quadriga right, Nike flies above to left to crown him. Rev. ΣYP-AKO-ΣION, head of Arethusa facing right, her hair in a sakkos and an ampyx, bound with olive-wreath and a double decorated fillet, wearing a necklace with a lion's head, four dolphins swimming around (Boehringer 698 (V344/R476) (these dies); SNG ANS 233 (these dies)). Obverse struck from worn die as usual, but with a magnificent image of Arethusa, most of the head, all of the face, dolphins and legend fully struck, cabinet tone, extremely fine.
