Lower Canada silver "Wellington" Peninsular Token ND (1813) AU58 NGC, Br-986 (R1; for general type), WE-Unl., WEL-Unl. Edge engrailed right. Medal alignment. With two berries located within the leaves of the wreath, and one on temple, bow with double loop, and three locks of hair. Coat line ends at second tassel. On the reverse, legend begins with CUIDAD spelling, ends in MADRID, and there is a stop after JAN. We have been able to locate no exact matches for all of the features presented by this particular piece in Marelic's work. It is quite possible that it may represent some sort of mule, though the berry on the temple, close to the position of the third leaf (following pg. 13) seems to be entirely unlisted, with the possibility that this is a poor cutting of the 'third leaf' excludable due to the piece's superb preservation and clear strike. Mislabeled on the holder as WE-11C2.
