"Mexican Sou" Blacksmith 1/2 Penny Token ND F12 Brown NGC, BL-51 (Extremely Rare), Wood-Unl., Robins-29369. Plain edge. Medal alignment. Struck from deteriorated dies: the obverse from an unidentified "bouquet" sou and the reverse from a copy of a State of Chihuahua 1850 1/4 Real (cf. KM343). The finest example we have encountered, with a VG10 Brown piece realizing $4320 in our last Doug Robins sale.
