Province of Canada "Montreal & Lachine Railroad Company" Third Class Ticket (Token) ND (1847) AU58 Brown NGC, Br-530 (R2-1/2), TR-3, Robins-29534. Plain edge. Coin alignment. Issue with 'X' cancellation mark. The highest-graded sample of one of these rare train tickets we have handled. Imported from Birmingham, these railway tokens were something of an oddity in Canada, as cardboard tickets would more regularly have been used for third class passengers. Most were melted after 1862, making the issue quite rare and highly collectible. Sold with old Randy Weir dealer tag.
