Pr-3110. In the name of Alexander III (the Great) of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; monogram in left field. Possibly struck during the life of Alexander the Great, this piece, still retaining his name, was utilized by Pumathion in Cyprus, another example of Alexander's extensive coinage being struck throughout the region--sometimes under different authorities.
