Obverse: Laureate head right; LB (date) to right; Reverse: Messalina standing left, leaning upon column to right, holding two children in outstretched hand and cradling grain ears. An interesting provincial type, this example features the third wife of Claudius, Messalina, whom he had executed in A.D. following the discovery of an alleged plot against him.
