BHM-604; Eimer-979. Diameter: 53mm. By T. Webb. Obverse: Bust of Charles James Fox right; Reverse: Angel atop globe with arms outstretched, each hand holding a wreath. Stuck in wonderful relief with strong gleam and multicolored accents in the fields. A lovely example.

Charles James Fox (1749 - 1806) was a prominent British Whig politician. His career spanned 38 years, rising to become the leader of the House of Commons during that time. Notable for his opposition views, he was a opponent of George III, a supporter of the American cause and a champion for the anti-slavery movement.
