Provincial Bank of Ireland Ltd, two preliminary printers proof booklets for £1 from the 1976 Issue, McClay signature, First Booklet includes four proofs: first obverse and reverse with full design, no serial numbers or date, colour bars in lower margin, bank logo in purple rather than the blue used on the issued notes, second uniface, obverse die proof, green and brown print on white paper, third obverse multicolour litho underprint, reverse fully printed, with colour bars in lower margin, fourth uniface, reverse die proof, green print, all proofs printed on watermarked paper, Second Booklet includes: nine progressive proofs showing various stages of the litho underprints, one with complete underprint design on both sides, five obverse underprints, three reverse underprints, both booklets have a paper cover with printers annotations, each stapled at top, both with interesting annotations noting the logo should be in blue, an extremely interesting group (2 booklets)
