Szechuan. Kuang-hsü copper Pattern 20 Cash ND (1903-1905) AU Details (Scratch) PCGS, KM-Y230.3, CL-SC.77, cf. Duan-1979, Hsu-Unl. Variety with trident flame pointing to below "ZE" of "SZE". A rare pattern issue whose special nature is immediately felt in hand due to its exacting strike, which leaves significantly sharper detail than is seen on those examples intended for circulation. Lightly toned, with fiery reds accentuating the device peripheries. A small number of light scratches are noted, the largest of which extends from the reverse inner circle to the outer edge. A rare opportunity to acquire an example of this elusive type.
