Republic Yuan Shih-kai silver Pattern "L. Giorgi Plumed Hat" Dollar ND (1914) MS62 NGC, Tientsin mint, KM-Pn28, L&M-859, Kann-642a, WS-0095, Wenchao-856 (rarity 3 stars). Pattern for the Founding of the Republic commemorative. Perhaps the most iconic design of Chinese Republican silver dollar series, and an even greater testament to the skill of Tientsin chief mint engraver Luigi Giorgi, the coin at hand leaves remarkably little to be desired--this being only the fourth example of the pattern we have offered. Possessing stunningly glassy surfaces and a precision of detail that leaves an almost frosted appearance to the finer portions of the devices, it is easily imaginable that this piece would receive a Specimen designation from PCGS.
