Rama III copper Proof 2 Keping Token CS 1197 (1835) PR64 Brown NGC, Birmingham mint, KM-Tn1, Prid-54A (under Singapore), Sweeny-Unl., Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 147, Plate F02. Mintage: 500. Considerably more difficult to acquire in any state whatsoever as compared to the contemporaneous 'Lotus' tokens, this gorgeously toned issue is outranked by only a single piece in the NGC census. According to LeMay, these were reportedly imported into Siam in 1835 for use in trade with Singapore and to replace the contemporary 'bullet' coinage--a story not relayed by Krisadaolarn and Mihailovs--though they ultimately failed and were never officially put into circulation.
