Rama IV gold 8 Baht (Tot) ND (1863) MS63 NGC, Bangkok mint, KM-Y15, LeMay-Unl., Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 163, Plate F31. A very fleeting choice rendition of this fiercely contested largest gold type of Thailand, and an issue that almost universally comes poorly struck. While the features do display a general softness, hardly an ounce of serious handling is detectable anywhere across the surfaces, with clusters of frosty luster in the protected regions of the design, together with concentric die polish, easily visible on the reverse. Presently tied for the second finest certified at NGC, with none graded gem or higher.
