Rama V copper Pattern 2 Baht (1/2 Tamlung) ND (1868) MS65 NGC, Uncertain English mint, KM-Pn30, LeMay-Unl., Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs- pg. 164, Plate F32. Plain edge. A truly fantastic Thai pattern rarity, with this copper striking appearing to be considerably scarcer than its nickel cousins, and the overall appeal bolstered to an entirely new level by its gem designation. Remarkably the second example of the type we have had the privilege to handle--seemingly no others having come to auction in the meantime--the surfaces have aged to an engaging cobalt hue. Almost certainly the finest graded and an unmissable opportunity.
