Rama V copper Proof Pattern 2 Baht (1/2 Tamlung) ND (1877) PR65 Red and Brown NGC, Paris mint, KM-Pn36, VG-Unl., LeMay-Unl., Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 172, Plate F42. Undoubtedly the finest certified example and likely the finest in private hands, with only 2 other pieces certified by PCGS, neither of which has exceeded the AU58 level. One of those specimens, a SP53, brought the equivalent of $6,164 in DNW's recent Auction 174, suggesting that the current gem Proof will quite easily break five figures, though it would be pure extrapolation to estimate what heights it could reach. On visual grounds alone the overall level of eye appeal is simply breathtaking, with fully glassy surfaces punctuated by prominent die polish, while a rosaceous merlot tint has taken to the reverse.
