Annam
"Kuang-hsü" silver 10 Lang Bar ND (19th-20th Century) XF (Cleaned), KM-Unl., Schr-Unl. 120x29mm. 373.34gm. Both of the stamps on the face read: "Guang Xu" (Kuang-hsü), with the chop character on the back reading: "Shi Liang" (10 Lang). The stamps on either side read: "Zhong Ping ____ Jia" (the foundry name). An intriguing bar that cites the Chinese emperor rather than the reigning king of Annam. In his catalog of sycee in the British Museum Collection, Cribb records, under his F38, a similar piece (though half the weight of the present specimen), for which he notes that the 'Guang Xu' characters are known from a forger's dies. He states that these were sometimes known to have been applied to genuine ingots sometime in the 20th century. The base displays a small label giving the weight. Sold as is, no returns.
