Hong Kong Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp. 5 Dollars 1.3.1898 Pick 139 KNB29 PMG Very Fine 30. An iconic design from this famed issuer, very rarely encountered and desirable in any grade. A small, 19th century population, and a pair of issuers hint that print totals were small. Additionally, the sands of time prevented all but a scant few examples from surviving to be enjoyed today. This example is fresh to the market and should stir excitement due to its bold colors and crisp paper. Pinholes and mount remnants are seen on this otherwise very attractive banknote.
