As one of Hong Kong's most desirable banknotes, interest levels are always high when this type presents itself at the auction block. This denomination was the highest series issued in Hong Kong until the $1000 was issued in the 1970s. Only two dates and two prefixes are seen on this design, which was replaced in 1935 by a design that circulated for almost 40 years.
