This desirable, highest denomination type was overwhelmingly redeemed for gold coinage a century ago, leaving surviving examples few and far between. Featuring red overprints and no serial numbers, this Specimen has all details visible and bright. At the time of cataloging, only 15 examples of this 100 Yen have been graded in the PMG Population Report, and of that total, only six are Specimen. A perforated cancellation is also mentioned for accuracy.
