Vietnam Assortment of 21 Banknotes from 1946 to 1951 Very Good to Very Fine. The conclusion of War War II in the Pacific theater brought an end to conflict with the Japanese Empire, which was dismantled in 1945. However, European powers saw insurrection from within their own colonies as waves of patriot self-determination swept through the region. Vietnam declared independence from France after World War II, but was not recognized until Ho Chi Min's Communist forces finally defeated the French in 1954. These 21 banknotes, in various grades, colors, and denominations were issued during the Indochina War years. Locally printed, and rather crudely, these notes are historically quite interesting. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/vietnam-assortment-of-21-banknotes-from-1946-to-1951-very-good-to-very-fine-total-21-notes-/a/4023-28379.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4023 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
