The style of this piece has some parallels to Athenian imitations from Philistia and Baktria. However, the Philistian issues are only known with square incuses, and typically have letters or symbols added to the types, which could be present to the right of the owl. There are some Baktrian issues that have a circular incuse, but those are consistently struck on the Attic standard, unlike the present coin.
