MACEDON, Lete, silver stater, c.530-480 B.C., (this issue c.500 B.C.), (9.81 g), obv. nude, ithyphallic satyr standing right, grasping the right arm and stroking the chin of a nymph who stands before him, trying to move away to the right and raising her left hand in protest, rev. diagonally quartered incuse square, (S.1298 [Sear illustrated a very similar coin from the same reverse die], SNG ANS 954-963 [Pl.36, close to 960]. Svoronos pl. VIII, 6, No.16 [p.81], SNG Lockett 1325-7 [Pl.XXV], SNG Cop. 187 [Pl.5], SNG Ash. 2270-1 [Pl.XLII], ACNAC Dewing 1022, BMC 4-7 [p.77]). Good very fine and very rare.
