ATTICA, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.68 g), issued 150-149 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 118-7 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, two torches to right, I on amphora, legend across **A QE, to left **[A]MM/ WNI/ OS/ [B]YTT/ [A]KOS*, to right **KAL/LIAS, SO below, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 592a [same dies, Pl.61]). Slightly off centred reverse, otherwise good very fine and rare.
