PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy II Philadelphus (285/4-246 BC). AV trichryson or triple stater (pentadrachm) (24mm, 17.72 gm, 2h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 2/5, ex-jewelry. Uncertain Mint 9, on Cyprus (Salamis or Citium), second Ptolemaic Period, from 294 BC. Diademed head of Ptolemy I Soter right, aegis tied around neck; dotted border / ΠTOΛEMAIOY-BAΣIΛEΩΣ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, wings closed; EY above ΣAP monogram in left field. Cf.
