Emission from 17 July 1346. Presently the single finest certified example of this extremely appealing type at NGC, imbued with a slightly muted honey-golden color that gives a perceptible feeling of its age without impinging on its near gem quality. Almost perfectly centered, and nearly impossible to locate meaningfully finer. We note that this coin has been misascribed to Philippe IV on the holder.
