Republic gold 5 Pesos 1895/85 AU58 NGC, KM53, Fr-6. A major series rarity which saw only 20 reported examples struck for the date. Having experienced only light circulation, this treasure of Honduran numismatics represents the third selection that we have seen, the other two examples both ranking decidedly lower in terms of preservation and suffering from post-strike issues. Lightly rubbed at the higher points, the overall detail otherwise close to full and set against shimmering luster of a distinctively brass-gold hue.
