Philippe le Bon (1419-1467) gold Chaise d'Or (Gouden schild klinkaert) ND (1454-1460) VF30 NGC, Ghent mint, Fr-181, Schneider-158 var (secret point), Delm-485. +PhS: DVX: BVRG' x | x COm x | FLΛD: hЄS: hOL' ZR (double saltire stops), duke seated on Gothic throne, a sword in his right hand and his left supporting a shield; secret point beneath G of BVRG / + XPC: VIИCIT: XPC: RЄGИΛT: XPC: IИPЄRΛT (double annulet stops), cross fleurée in quadrilobe with leaves on cusps and trefoils in spandrels; secret point beneath the G in RЄGИΛT. A bit unevenly struck, as is typical for this rare type, the surfaces displaying moderate wear and an attractive red-gold patina.
