Louis XIV Ecu 1657-★V★ MS62 NGC, Saint Palais mint, KM-Unl., Sobin-1332 (R2), Gad-203 (R2). With arms of Navarre on reverse. A very rare mint within the series, and one that is almost unknown in this sort of quality, with bright luster accentuated by iridescent peripheral tones. The mint at Saint Palais in Navarre only operated for a comparatively brief period between 1652 and 1672, after having been converted from a hammer mint to the screw-press.
