Great Britain
Charles II silver "British Colonization" Medal 1670 MS63 PCGS, Betts-44, Eimer-245, MI-546/203. By J. Roettiers. Obv. Jugate busts right of Charles, armored, and Catharine, draped. Rev. A world globe, with the British Isles at the center, and prominently featuring the equator. A popular type suggestive of Britain's rising empire and burgeoning ambitions, and rarely seen in so fine a state, as examples are often well-handled. Superbly struck, with very little of the weakness in strike at the high point of the curls that is typically seen.
