Widely regarded as perhaps the most beautifully designed piece of British coinage, the 1847 "Gothic" Crown remains exceedingly popular among collectors. This example is impaired, as is common, dappled with hairlines from an old cleaning and the recipient of a rim bump at the reverse 12 o'clock, but nevertheless quite appealing as an attainable example of the much-desired type.
