A rare example of the type and date displaying the familiar motifs of St. John the Baptist (obverse) and Florentine lily (reverse). Shimmering golden luster abounds despite the noted cleaning, which has left light wisps in the fields, though the surfaces retain the greater part of their original brilliance. A fleeting opportunity to acquire an example of the issue, and the first of its kind that we have sold to date.
