Republic gold 8 Escudos 1825 Mo-JM MS61 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM383.9. Variety with small book obverse. Slight softness to the strike of the central areas, as typical, but quite desirable as a Mint State example of this early "Hand on Book" 8 Escudos type. A flurry of hairlines account for the assigned grade, but the luster is quite nice and the fields around the perimeter lettering are especially reflective.
