A more desirable portrait type from Ferdinand VI's reign, the coin at hand displays a feature often lacking from Spanish colonial 8 Escudos--a rich toning palette which includes hints of violet and cobalt. Singularly attractive as such, and still quite lustrous, with traces of recutting in the legends.
