RIC-512; Calico-2154. Obverse: L VERVS AVG ARMENIACVS, bare head right; Reverse: TR P IIII IMP II COS II, Lucius Verus seated left on curule chair set upon raised dais with attendant standing to left and right; to lower left, the Roman-appointed Armenian king, Sohaemus, standing left, raising right hand to head; in two lines in exergue, REX ARMEN / DAT. A well centered and struck example, presenting a great deal of detail, especially in the hair of Verus. Somewhat pale gold in appearance, this example does exhibit some evidence of prior use as a jewelry piece, though these markings do not hinder its obverse and reverse appeal.
