BRAZIL. 2000 Reis, 1792. Lisbon Mint. Maria I. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield.
Fr-90; KM-224; LDMB-O494. Mintage: 2,251. The only certified example of the type on the PCGS population report. This short lived series was only issued for three years (none consecutive, 1787, 1792 and 1793) and as a type the current example ranks amongst the finest with one example sharing the same grade designation (NGC MS 64) only surpassed by a single example (NGC MS 65) both dated 1787. An exceptional example of this low mintage VERY RARE date boasting a strong strike on both sides with satiny obverse surfaces while the reverse displays a combination of satiny central area and brilliant outer legends. Light mottled orange tone complements this high grade example offering good eye appeal sure to catch the attention of specialists.
