CANADA. 10 Cents, 1913. Ottawa Mint. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield.
KM-23. Broad Leaves variety. A monumental condition RARITY of this classic 20th century variety, tied with one other example for the second finest known, with a single coin appearing in the MS-65 grade in the PCGS census. This piece, perhaps as attractive as that MS-65, exhibits full white surfaces with thick frost in the fields. An absence of marks that enter the surfaces helps to validate the quality. All considered, a possible once-in-a-generation opportunity to acquire this rarity in such an impressive state.

Part of the ongoing coinage revamp of the new king, the reverse design for the 10 Cent series in 1913 would see a smaller leaf replace the broader leaf used during the Edwardian period. While the reason remains unknown, one of the earlier reverse dies from this period was used in the 1913 production, creating one of Canada's most iconic varieties.

Estimate: $27000.00- $30000.00
