COLOMBIA. 8 Reales, 1816-P F. Popayan Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS Genuine--Graffiti, VF Details Gold Shield.
KM-71; Restrepo-120.10; FC-6; El-10. With the bust of Charles IV, but in the name of Ferdinand VII. A VERY SCARCE and popular type with nice evenly worn central devices. The surfaces display mottled gray patina with a slight iridescent sheen, a complementary combination of pale argent color on the high points which transitions to dove gray and finally to slate patina in the peripheries. The details designation of "Graffiti" is somewhat misleading, there are two long and well placed perpendicular pin scratches on the reverse from long ago now toned over blending nicely with the rest of the coin. Despite its shortcomings a highly desirable type at an affordable level sure to excite many collectors of colonial bust coinage.

Estimate: $1200.00- $1600.00
